I had my doctor's appointment yesterday, and it was pretty uneventful.  I get myself all worked up over these things, and then nothing happens.  I shouldn't complain.  No news is good news.  My white blood cell count and platelets are down a little, as is expected with the chemo meds.  The catecholemine counts hadn't come back yet, and that's what I was waiting for.  That will be a few more days.  I am going to start a new medication that is infused by IV; meaning I will go to the infusion center and sit with an IV for 20 - 30 minutes getting the medication called Zometa.  It is zoledronic acid which lowers the amount of calcium loss from bone.  This will help protect my spinal bones so that they hopefully won't collapse like my neck did 2 years ago.  Wow, has it been 2 years?  Almost...  Of course, there are side effects. A few days of flu-like symptoms, body aches, fever, nausea, and less common are skin rash, lightheadedness, muscle cramps, jaw pain.  Can't wait for all those.  But they should only last a few days.  I have to call next week to make the appointment.  I'll be getting a dose every 6 weeks or so.  I start the chemo meds again on Monday, so the roller coaster begins again.  Until then, God is love.

  1. I'm glad you got relatively good news, but am worried about you going through your next round of chemo. Although your side affects were horrible, you handled everything so, so well. Hopefully the next 4 weeks will be tolerable. I'm grateful you and Cody were able to meet us at the zoo and I'm still so amazed you were up and ready to get moving just days after finishing a chemo treatment. You da man (woman). Ok, well if you need ANYTHING, just tell me since I'm not working much. I love you and will be sure to pray for an easier 4 weeks than the last treatment.
