This is always the hardest time for me. The time just before the scan. Monday I have a PET/CT scan which measures the size and activity of the tumors. The last one we saw was pretty scary, so I'm hoping this one doesn't have as many scary black spots. We don't see the doctor until Thursday morning, so it will be a long week. And because I'm going early, there won't be a nurse there to access my port for the IV, so the tech is going to have to try to get a vein. That didn't work out well last time, and it's the same guy, so we'll see how that goes.
I got to go on a field trip with Cody's class. I'd hadn't been in a long time, and I know that Cody really likes when I do stuff with his class. He's still young enough to think I'm cool sometimes. We walked from his school to Costco. It was supposed to rain, but the weather was perfect. We walked in the back, and I got to talk with Cody's teacher the whole time, which was great. They are learning about people who work in the service industry in his class right now, so we got a tour of Costco, and people from various departments came out and spoke to the kids. I think the butcher with all his knives and chain mail glove was one of the favorites. Except for the lady from the bakery who came out and gave all of us chocolate chip cookies. We all got free pizza and sodas at the end, and then walked back to school. I was tired, but it was great to get out of the house for awhile.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for reading.
God is love.
