Day 18

So I'm 2 days post IV therapy with the chemo drug Zometa. Although the side effects weren't great, it was so much easier this time than last time.  Kassy is home this weekend, and Ken had to take her to a class in Orange County Saturday a.m., so my mom came down to babysit me and Cody while I recover from the Zometa.  It causes headaches and "bone pain."  It's kind of like having your body in a vice.  We are still fighting with the insurance company about getting a PET scan. They aren't going to be able to use the "experimental" excuse very much longer.  There was recently an article on Yahoo about PET scans being the best test out there to detect any kind of tumor activity, and within the next few years it will be the most commonly used test to detect all kinds of cancers.  Then the insurance company will have to come up with some other excuse not to do what is right.
