Another day, another surgery

So, I'm at home again.  Today is Easter Sunday, and I'm 3 days post surgery.  I got to come home on Friday with strict instructions of no swallowing, stay on IV antibiotics (I have a PICC line that goes into my arm with a line straight into my heart) and lots of rest.  I had to call the doctor on call yesterday because I threw up, and he told me I cannot do that.  The tissue is too fragile, and unless I wanted to come back in for a skin graft surgery, which is very complicated, I had better take my nausea medicine.  So I hope I didn't do any damage.  Things are still pretty swollen back there, and my mouth gets so dry, it's hard to sleep.  Ken went and bought me a humidifier, which helped more than I thought it would.  I can hardly keep my eyes open during the day, and don't sleep well at night.  The home nurse comes to draw blood tomorrow, and I see my doctors at the end of the week.  If all looks good, I'll be able to start taking small sips of water.  Woo hoo!  Baby steps, I guess.  Thank you for your prayers. Please keep them coming.  My battle is far from over, but God's help and your prayers, we can make it through this mess.  Love you all.

God is love.
