One step forward

After a quiet Mother's Day at home with the hubby and the kids, we had a doctor's appointment yesterday with the infectious disease doctor.  Because at the start of this whole ordeal, there was an infection inside the titanium cage in my spine, this guy was called in.  If they couldn't get the infection under control, they would have had to take the cage out, which has been growing into the vertebrae for 2 years.  It would not have been good.  So, some heavy duty antibiotics were set up through a PICC line, an IV that goes in through my arm with a line straight to my heart.  It comes with its own portable pump and stylish fanny pack to carry it around in.  I've been carrying that thing around for 6 weeks, 24/7.  They took it out yesterday.  No more antibiotics, no more IV lines, no more fanny pack!  I am very excited.

Friday is the throat surgeon, Saturday is Cody's birthday party, Monday is a PET scan, and next Thursday is the oncologist.  Busy week ahead.  As always, God is love.
