It's almost Valentine's Day

I finally got the cold that's been traveling around my house.  Sore throat, coughing, runny nose.  I guess it was only a matter of time before it caught up with me, especially with my immune system being more vulnerable.  The doctor said I could stop my meds a little early since I'm sick, so I didn't take my poison today.  Sunday would have been my last day anyway.  Tomorrow Ken and I are flying to Dallas to see one of his high school buddies for a 40th surprise party.  I hope he doesn't read this.  I going to try to suck it up.  It will be the 2nd time we have gone anywhere without the kids in 10 years of marriage.  I'm looking forward to some alone time.  And we're staying in a really nice hotel with a spa.  

I have a CT scan scheduled for next week, and I'm still waiting for the insurance company to approve the PET scan.  Aetna has started denying the PET scans now, so the doctor's office has to file an appeal every time now, and it takes 2 or 3 weeks to get the approval before I can schedule it.  I hate insurance companies.  I just watched Michael Moore's "Sicko."  I'd seen parts of it before, but not the whole thing.  I can't believe that a person can get free medical care in Cuba.  The hospital at USC would put patients in a cab to be dropped off at a shelter without treating them first because they didn't have insurance.  There's a video of woman walking around in a hospital gown and no shoes.  Disgusting.  Anyway, it was a great film, and I'd recommend it to anyone.  

Hopefully I will have the results from the scans by next Friday, and I'll keep you posted.  Thanks for reading!
